BuildMatch is a New York-based homeowner and contractor marketplace. These terms describe use of its marketplace connecting homeowners and independent construction professionals. Questions can be sent to buildmatchco@yahoo.com.

1. Accounts and accurate information

You must be at least 18 and authorized to act for any business you represent. Provide accurate account, business, project, licensing, and insurance information, and keep it current. Protect your password and contact support if you suspect unauthorized access.

2. The marketplace and profile approval

BuildMatch provides tools to post projects, find contractors, exchange quotes and messages, and leave reviews. Contractors are independent providers. BuildMatch does not perform construction work or guarantee a contractor’s workmanship, safety, availability, or suitability for a project.

A “Profile approved” badge means the contractor’s profile has been approved for marketplace access. BuildMatch has not verified the contractor’s licensing or insurance. Approval is not an endorsement or a guarantee of qualifications. Homeowners should independently check licenses, insurance, references, permits, and qualifications before hiring.

3. Projects, quotes, and construction agreements

Homeowners and contractors are responsible for agreeing on scope, price, payment schedule, permits, timelines, warranties, and changes to the work. A quote acceptance records a selection in BuildMatch; the parties should separately document the complete construction agreement. BuildMatch Pro subscription payments are separate from payments for construction work.

4. BuildMatch Pro subscriptions

The price, billing interval, and applicable charges are shown at checkout. A monthly Pro subscription renews monthly until canceled. Stripe processes subscription payments. Pro access depends on subscription status, and marketplace features such as project browsing, quotes, and priority alerts also require an approved contractor profile and an active account.

Use “Manage subscription” on your dashboard to access billing and cancellation options. Cancellation stops future renewals and takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You retain subscription access until then, subject to your account status. Review the effective cancellation date shown in the billing portal before confirming. If that option fails, contact support. Pro membership does not guarantee a number of leads, quotes accepted, or jobs won.

Request a refund of your first BuildMatch Pro payment within 7 days of that payment by emailing buildmatchco@yahoo.com. Renewal payments are nonrefundable except where required by law. A refund request does not cancel your subscription; cancel separately to stop future charges.

5. Content, reviews, and acceptable use

Only submit material you have the right to share. Reviews must reflect actual project experiences. Do not post fake reviews, impersonate others, send spam or threats, commit fraud, disclose someone else’s private information without permission, or attempt to bypass access restrictions.

You retain ownership of your submitted content. You permit BuildMatch to store, display, and transmit that content as needed to provide the features you use. Information shown in public profiles and reviews can be viewed by others. Report abusive or inaccurate content to support.

6. Access and support

BuildMatch may restrict accounts or remove content to address abuse, security risks, or violations of these terms. Features may be unavailable during maintenance or outages. For account closure requests, contact support. Account closure and subscription cancellation are separate requests; confirm your billing cancellation as well.

7. Privacy and changes

See the Privacy Policy for information about data handling. Updates to these policies will be posted with a revised date. Nothing in these terms removes rights you have under applicable consumer law.
